The Longest Day - Benefitting the Alzheimer's Association

For the sixth year, our participation was great! The morning game attracted 15.5 tables, and the afternoon game attracted 16 tables! Players bought partners, honored friends and loved ones by naming games, enjoyed a wonderful chicken and sausage pasta lunch provided by The Neches River Wheelhouse, played multiple games of bridge, bid in the silent auction, and made donations. Thanks especially to Lance Bradley and The Neches River Wheelhouse (who provided our entree), Sylvia Street, Liz MacKenzie, Linda Briggs, Marilyn Adams, Sandra Allison, Nixie Hanson, and Carolyn Worsham (who provided the salads, bread, drinks, and desserts), Ed Rasmussen (who donated all director fees), Linda Briggs (who took most of the photos), the Orange Community Bridge League (who joined our team this year) and to all others who participated in any way.
	The early total to the Alzheimer's Association including game receipts exceeded $10,000. Job well done, Unit 201!!!!

Seventy-five played in one or both games!

Judy Lofton kicked off the event with a moving tribute to Randy, her recently deceased husband, and credited the Alzheimer's Association for their help during her journey as family member and caretaker. Purple shirts set the theme for the day, as evidenced by Carolyn Worsham, Linda Briggs, Sandra Allison, and Paul Keedy.
